Where we work
We are based in Rapid City and we cover the Black Hills, the prairie towns east of them, and across the line into Wyoming. Every town here has its own page on what events actually look like there.
South Dakota
Black Hills and western South Dakota
Rapid City, SD
Rapid City is the center of the event calendar for all of western South Dakota. We run everything here, from hotel ballroom receptions and downtown corporate nights to gym proms and backyard graduation parties, and the venue list is deep enough that no two weekends look the same. It is also our home base, which means we can be at your venue on a weekday afternoon to look at the room rather than making it a trip.
Events in Rapid CityBox Elder, SD
Box Elder has grown fast and the event work has grown with it. Most of what we do here is private: graduation parties, anniversaries, reunions, and receptions in community rooms, church halls, and on people's own property. It sits close enough to Rapid City that couples often split the day, with a ceremony here and a reception in town.
Events in Box ElderBlack Hawk, SD
Black Hawk sits between Rapid City and the northern hills, and most of the events we run here happen on private land. Family acreages, shop buildings cleared out for a reception, and backyard ceremonies with the hills sitting right behind them. There is very little formal venue infrastructure, which is exactly the kind of job we like.
Events in Black HawkSummerset, SD
Summerset is largely residential, so our work here is mostly private celebrations: graduation parties, milestone birthdays, retirement gatherings, and backyard receptions. Couples getting married in Summerset usually pair a home or church ceremony with a reception in Rapid City or up the road in Piedmont. It is a quick run for us either way.
Events in SummersetPiedmont, SD
Piedmont is barn and ranch country at the foot of the hills and one of our favorite places to run a wedding. Properties along Elk Creek and up into the valley give you the outdoor ceremony and covered reception combination that actually works in this climate. These sites are beautiful and they are blank canvases, which is exactly the kind of job we plan for.
Events in PiedmontSturgis, SD
Sturgis runs two completely different event calendars. There is rally week in August, when the town fills and the work turns into outdoor stages, sponsor events, and very long days. Then there is the rest of the year, when Sturgis is a quiet ranching and community town running weddings, banquets, and school events. We work both, and we plan them nothing alike.
Events in SturgisSpearfish, SD
Spearfish carries more event volume than its size suggests, between the university, the convention space, and Spearfish Canyon just up the road. We run wedding receptions, banquets, campus events, and canyon ceremonies here through most of the year. The canyon in particular is a place we know well, and it asks for an entirely different setup than a hotel ballroom does.
Events in SpearfishBelle Fourche, SD
Belle Fourche is a ranching town with a strong community event calendar, and rodeo season sets the rhythm of it. We run wedding receptions, fundraisers, banquets, and community celebrations in halls and on ranch properties around town. The Black Hills Roundup in early July is the busiest stretch of the year here by a wide margin.
Events in Belle FourcheLead, SD
Lead is a historic mining town at 5,300 feet and the event spaces reflect that history. The opera house downtown is one of the best rooms in the Black Hills, and Terry Peak gives you a ski lodge setting nothing else in the region can match. Both are worth the planning they take.
Events in LeadDeadwood, SD
Deadwood packs a lot of event space into a narrow gulch. Between the hotel ballrooms, the event centers, and the historic rooms on and just off Main Street, there is real range here and we have worked in most of it. What Deadwood does not hand you is easy parking or easy load in, so those are the first two things we solve.
Events in DeadwoodHill City, SD
Hill City sits in the middle of the hills and the events here lean outdoor and rustic. Wineries, ranch properties, forested clearings, and barn venues make up most of the wedding work, with a steady run of private parties and community events alongside it. Almost all of it happens between May and October.
Events in Hill CityKeystone, SD
Keystone is a tourist town built on steep ground at the doorstep of Mount Rushmore, and the event work here follows the season hard. Summer and early fall bring lodge weddings, small receptions, and private parties with a view most venues cannot compete with. The terrain is the real challenge and it is worth planning around.
Events in KeystoneCuster, SD
Custer is where the Black Hills wedding season really shows itself. Between the state park lodges, the lakes, and the barn and ranch venues outside of town, this is one of the highest volume wedding areas we serve. It is also the one with the most rules, because a lot of the best ceremony sites sit on state park land.
Events in CusterHot Springs, SD
Hot Springs is the warmest corner of our service area and the season runs longer here than it does up in the hills. The historic sandstone buildings downtown, the river running through the middle of town, and the ranch country south of it give this area a look that is genuinely different from the rest of the Black Hills. We run weddings, community events, and reunions here through most of the year.
Events in Hot SpringsHermosa, SD
Hermosa is ranch country on the prairie edge of the hills and nearly everything we do here happens on private land. Barns, shop buildings, and open ground with Battle Creek and the hills sitting in the background. It is close enough to Rapid City that your guests travel easily and far enough out that the setting feels like its own place rather than a suburb.
Events in HermosaWall, SD
Wall sits out on the prairie between the Black Hills and the Badlands, and the events here are ranch weddings, community celebrations, and the occasional Badlands ceremony. It is the longest regular drive in our service area, which changes how we plan the day. What it gives back is a horizon nothing in the hills can match.
Events in WallNewell, SD
Newell is a small ranching community north of the hills and the events here are close knit: wedding receptions in the community hall, fundraisers, anniversaries, and celebrations tied to the ag calendar. These are rooms full of people who have known each other their whole lives, and they are some of the best nights we work.
