Live Sound and PA Systems in Sturgis

Front of house, monitors, and an engineer who stays at the board

On the ground

This work in Sturgis

Rally week is the biggest live sound work we do all year: long days on outdoor stages with fast changeovers and acts who all want something different. We patch for your entire bill in advance so the last band on the schedule still gets its full set instead of paying for everyone else running long. Outside of rally, live sound in Sturgis is halls and church spaces with a band in the corner, which is a completely different and much quieter job.

Conditions in Sturgis

Sturgis runs two calendars and they do not overlap. The first two weeks of August belong to the rally, when venues, lodging, and roads are effectively spoken for, so we plan weddings around that window and book rally season production separately and far earlier. The rest of the year Sturgis is straightforward and genuinely good to work: community halls, church spaces, and ranch properties, with easy load in and parking that is never a fight. If your date lands anywhere near early August, tell us early and we will be straight with you about what that means.

What is included

What you get

Bands, speakers, worship teams, and anything else that needs a real system and somebody mixing it. We work the input list with you before the date, build in a proper line check, and have an engineer at the board for the whole performance.

  • A front of house system sized to the room and the audience
  • Monitor mixes for the band, the speaker, or the worship team
  • Input list and stage plot worked out with the artist ahead of the date
  • A real line check and soundcheck built into the schedule
  • An engineer at the board for the entire performance
  • Wireless and wired microphones, DI boxes, and stands
  • Power distribution that will not trip the building
  • A recording or stream feed off the board on request
  • Load in, patch, and load out handled by us

How we work

Our approach

01

The input list comes before the date, not at line check

Every act has a stage plot and an input list, even the ones who have never written one down. We get it in advance, work out the channel count, the monitor sends, and what has to be wireless, and show up with the right rig patched and ready. Sorting this out at load in is how soundchecks run an hour long.

02

Monitors matter more than the main system

The audience notices front of house. The performers only notice monitors. If the band cannot hear itself, the performance suffers regardless of how good the room sounds out front. We build monitor mixes properly and check them with each performer rather than sending everyone the same thing.

03

Somebody stays at the board

A live mix is not a setting, it is a job. Levels move, a guitarist changes pedals, a speaker steps back from the microphone. We keep an engineer at the console through the whole performance so those things get handled in the moment instead of becoming the thing everyone remembers.
