School Dances and Proms in Hermosa

Clean edits, controlled volume, and a full floor

On the ground

This work in Hermosa

Hermosa students head to the surrounding districts for school, so the dances themselves are usually elsewhere. What we run locally is the private side of the school year: graduation parties in June and end of season celebrations on family property. The same standards apply to the music, and we clear the list with whoever is organizing your event before the date rather than sorting it out on the night.

Conditions in Hermosa

Hermosa is almost entirely private property work, so we plan for a site with no house audio and no rain cover unless somebody built one. Wind is the defining condition out here. This is open prairie and afternoon wind is the normal state of things rather than the exception, so your ceremony audio gets planned around it instead of surprised by it. The upside is that there is room to park and room to work, and the drive from Rapid City is short enough that setting up early costs nobody a day.

What is included

What you get

Homecoming, prom, winter formal, and grand march. Every track is vetted before the date, the volume stays where your chaperones can still talk at the edges of the room, and the floor stays busy without anyone having to beg students onto it.

  • Clean edit versions only, with every track vetted before the date
  • Song list reviewed with your advisor or student committee ahead of time
  • Volume held at a level chaperones and the building can live with
  • A PA aimed and tuned for gym acoustics rather than just turned up
  • Dance floor lighting that fills the space without strobing all night
  • Announcements for court, coronation, and grand march
  • Setup finished before doors open
  • Teardown after the last student has left the building
  • A certificate of insurance sent to the district on request
  • One staff point of contact from booking through load out

How we work

Our approach

01

We vet the music before the date, not during the dance

Clean edit is not the same as radio edit, and a lot of what students request has a clean version that still has content a school is not going to want on its speakers. We go through the list with your advisor or committee ahead of time, flag anything questionable, and settle it before the night rather than making a judgment call in front of four hundred students.

02

We treat the gym as the acoustic problem it is

A gym is a hard reflective box with a ceiling built for basketball. Pointing a bigger system at it makes the far corners worse, not better. We aim and tune the system to cover the floor where the students actually are, which is how you get a dance that sounds good on the floor and does not shake the offices down the hall.

03

We work with one point of contact

School events have a lot of people with an opinion and usually one person actually responsible. We work through that person from booking to load out. Contracts, insurance certificates, the music list, the run of show for grand march, and the load in time all go through one channel so nothing gets decided twice.
