School Dances and Proms in Wall

Clean edits, controlled volume, and a full floor

On the ground

This work in Wall

Wall is a small school and nearly everybody comes, which fills the room rather than scattering people across a big gym. That is easier to cover well and it makes for a better night. We aim and tune for the floor and keep it civil at the edges where your chaperones are standing. Every track is clean edit and cleared with your advisor before the date.

Conditions in Wall

Wall is open prairie, which means heat and no shade are the two things every outdoor plan has to solve. Summer afternoons run hot enough that we think hard about where your guests are sitting relative to the sun, because a beautiful ceremony is still miserable at ninety eight degrees in direct light. There is very little rental support in town, so we arrive with backups for anything that matters, since the nearest replacement is fifty five miles behind us. Badlands ceremonies need a permit and their own lead time, so those get started early.

How we work

Our approach

01

We vet the music before the date, not during the dance

Clean edit is not the same as radio edit, and a lot of what students request has a clean version that still has content a school is not going to want on its speakers. We go through the list with your advisor or committee ahead of time, flag anything questionable, and settle it before the night rather than making a judgment call in front of four hundred students.

02

We treat the gym as the acoustic problem it is

A gym is a hard reflective box with a ceiling built for basketball. Pointing a bigger system at it makes the far corners worse, not better. We aim and tune the system to cover the floor where the students actually are, which is how you get a dance that sounds good on the floor and does not shake the offices down the hall.

03

We work with one point of contact

School events have a lot of people with an opinion and usually one person actually responsible. We work through that person from booking to load out. Contracts, insurance certificates, the music list, the run of show for grand march, and the load in time all go through one channel so nothing gets decided twice.
